PRIORITIES

Safety of Children and School Staff

School safety is defined as schools and school-related activities where students are safe from violence, bullying, harassment, and substance abuse. As a parent of a high school student, Vatsa understands and relates to the sentiments of thousands of dads and moms who are constantly worried about the safety of their children in school. Keeping school children and staff safe is “NON-NEGOTIABLE” and is one of the highest priorities. Proactively identifying and stopping violence is the key.

Vatsa will do his best to work with the department of Safe and Secure Schools to establish priorities and to ensure funding for personnel, training, and/or facilities modification as might be recommended.

Open Communication with the community

There are so many things that are happening in the district that the community needs to know and give their inputs on. There should be an open communication channel between the school district and the people. The school district is doing an awesome job of providing information by posting on social media and the website, in addition to that, a personal interaction between the school board and the cabinet  would be an excellent way to keep the communication going and help ensure the community is  involved. Town Hall meetings, events, meet and greet get togethers, etc., are some of the ways that communication can be enhanced. Vatsa is a “people’s person”; he strongly believes that as a School Board Trustee, the people are his “boss”. He believes in listening to the ideas from parents and students and will work hard to implement the ideas that are put forth.

Global and Futuristic Education

The world is moving towards globalization and advanced technology in education. The possibilities for our kids are infinite. It is our responsibility to enable our children to be ready to take on the challenges that they are going to encounter in the real world. Emphasis on "innovation in education" that empowers every learner to realize his or her full potential is an excellent mission statement we have at Allen ISD. Creating a learning environment where our kiddos can explore their imagination with facilities like robotics, coding, outdoor learning, music, arts, and applied math and science will help our children in choosing their future.

Vatsa has solely sponsored the Robotics and Coding program for elementary school children conducted by Allen Public Library. He does this because he knows it will help the children get a head start in the innovative field of science and technology and will prepare them for further experiences at the wonderful STEAM center currently being built in the Allen Independent School District.

Providing them with international connections will help them cope in any country they might end up in for their career.

Unity in Diversity - One Allen Family

Ola Joseph says “Diversity is not about how we differ, it is about embracing one another’s uniqueness”.

Our community is a perfect example of unity in diversity. Bringing people together, forgetting their differences and becoming one Allen family is very important for our children in their learning experience. Vatsa places a very high importance in supporting a multi-cultural, multi-traditional environment for our children and staff in our schools.

Multi-Cultural awareness is an essential part of modern education for students who will almost without a doubt be building their livelihoods in a global marketplace.
